A customer of mine has a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The ramp and automatic side door stopped working. I mainly do emission repairs and this came about as a result of fixing some other electrical problems. Not knowing what to do I found the door sticker on the van which indicated the Builder was Vantage Mobility. There was no phone number there but it was easy enough to Google. I'm not kidding about this I was on the phone with Andrew for an hour and 5 minutes while we trouble shot the system. Very methodically we followed the LED indications on the control module and learned that one of the grounds for the system was corroded and loose. Tightening it down actually fixed it but we took time to remove the ground and clean it. Once again I'd like to thank Andrew at Advantage Mobility for his help.

I just Googled the Vantage Mobility website and was shocked to see the low rating. So I thought I would share my experience with you. I have a 2015 VMI Northstar conversion Honda Odyssey. I have been driving it for 7 years and I absolutely LOVE it. I have been driving for 27 years so prior to this vehicle I had a Toyota Sienna and a Dodge Grand Caravan from other conversion companies. They were both good vehicles but the VMI Honda outshines them. The Northstar conversion with the in-floor ramp is awesome. My previous two Vans had the fold-out ramps which I had a lot of trouble with. It seems on average that every 4 to 6 months something would break on the fold-out ramp. The North Star in-floor ramp has been very reliable. I did have to replace the ramp section earlier this year, but in my estimation this is just normal maintenance. Nothing works perfectly forever and even well designed systems need maintenance and replacements. I use my van primarily in the city and the ramp gets LOTS of use. Besides that, I have really had no issues. The electronics that operate the various doors and ramp work well. I had my mechanic install a Drone Mobile unit which allows me to remote start, open rear hatch, and open side door and deploy ramp all from an app on my smartphone. I live in an area that gets cold in the winter and it is so nice to remote start my vehicle from my phone. The Honda Odyssey itself is a wonderful vehicle and has been trouble free except for the usual oil change, tire rotation, etc. I hope this helps and I hope the company is still producing high quality vans like the one I got in 2015. When it comes time to get another one, I will definitely consider VMI!
