10/10 experience at Bert Smith. My car Buying experience was made exceptional by working with Michelle Barnes in sales. She was exactly the person to help me with the purchase of my new Crosstrek. Michelle made the process enjoyable, didn’t pressure me, and gave me an unbelievable deal. I love my new car and am so happy to be part of the Subaru family. Driving it for a few days and the quality and driving experience is next level. I even brought my mom back to work with Michelle to see if we could get her in a Forrester. Ready to make the whole family Subaru drivers. Thanks Michelle! You are most of the reason I went with Bert Smith to buy my car. Hope they know they have a valuable asset in you as an employee :)

We did not originally purchase our car from this Subaru dealer, but did purchase an extended warranty as a certified car and have had all of repairs and maintenance performed either at this dealership or one in NC since purchase. This includes, new brakes, tires, battery, oil changes, etc. Since the first day we purchased the car, there was an issue with the rear cargo Dome light that kept popping out and hanging by a wire from the ceiling. They were asked to fix or repair it on multiple occasions (since we were told it was covered under warranty) when we brought our car in for service, but usually after a couple hours or a day, the light would just pop out again. It still has not been corrected. Now, they state that the issue is with the headliner and not the lamp and that it is $1,500 to replace now that the original warranty has ran out. This is the same issue that we have been bringing up since we purchased the car when it was still under warranty. They also, on multiple occasions, have not been able to access their records due to a computer issue, as an aside. Funny how this always occurs when we need something done or researched. I feel like they have been skirting around actually fixing the problem at first and now expect us to pay for a proper repair where they 1) misdiagnosed the real issue and 2) tried an easy cheap fix for a known problem in Subaru Outbacks. UPDATE-------------------------------------------- The dealership contacted me subsequently and followed up on our recent visit and we discussed the situation. They offered to repair/replace the issue free of charge and delivered on their promise. They even provided a loaner car for us as we asked to purchase Detail Service they provide and it may take 2 days to complete both procedures. While they did not apologize for the string of incidents, ultimately we feel that they ended up doing the right thing by repairing our car. We will continue to use Bert Smith going forward, but will be more cognizant if something is not fixed correctly.

TLDR: An amazing car buying experience due to knowledgeable and friendly staff focused on Customer Experience. Took the fear of car buying I previously had away. Highly Recommend Bert Smith Subaru! Review: My last car buying experience at another local dealership years ago left me with a fear of buying a car due to extremely pushy Salesperson who essentially lied due to lack of education and a finance department that clearly used intimidation and omission of detail to get you to purchase add-ons. Fortunately after my recent experience at Bert Smith, that has changed for the better. . A couple of weeks ago, I went in to test drive a CPO ‘23 Outback Onxy, even though I wasn’t planning to purchasing the car that day. I had messaged them ahead of time and Jay had confirmed the car was available and what time would be good for a test drive. Upon arrival Jay introduced me to Tony, an amazing guy and Salesperson, who already had the car ready to go. After talking with Tony and test driving the car, I decided to go ahead and buy it. Through the entire purchase, Tony was beyond amazing. His experience coupled with focusing on my needs and answering questions to ensure the car was as the right fit versus trying to snag a sale made the entire experience easy and fun. We all know that car buying is rarely a short process but it flew by! Being a numbers guy, I asked many questions about not only the price but certain warranty and add-ons I already had planned for in my head. He gladly ran all the numbers for multiple monthly options for all the scenarios I could come up with so I could see the exact breakdowns and choose what fit best for me. This was really helpful versus prior experiences at the other dealership where they throw “estimates” off the top of their head and then you get a surprise payment. Also, how many Sales people have prior customers walk by to say a quick hello when they were coming in for service? Tony had a few, which was awesome to see how many people he had made connections with over the year. Going into the finance department, I was setup to finalize the Sale with Amira who just added to the experience. In addition to bonding over both being dog lovers, she had everything ready to as well as some additional options that I could add if I wanted. While she took the time to explain the options and why I may want to consider them, I never once got the feeling of her pushing them on me. Once I had made my decisions, she surprised me with the fact that my out the door final monthly payment had gone down slightly. Hands down, I would 110% recommend shopping at Bert Smith Subaru not only for a great vehicle but especially if your concern is AVOIDING pushy, vague, sales focused only salespersons. I felt relaxed and in control of the sale the entire time. If you do, ask for Tony!

My only regret is that I didn’t come here sooner. TOP NOTCH, caring attentive sales staff. Michelle was great, and the whole staff gave us a warm welcome and got right to work, getting us the best deal possible. Big thanks to the sales manager and financing team as well! You have a Subaru customer for life. ***** Added a month later: I went in for my first oil change, tire rotation. Brandon and the service team were awesome. Took care of my outback quickly and efficiently at an affordable price. Appreciate the whole Bert Smith team.
